Mission: As a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, Pratt Fine Arts Center provides access to the transformative power of artistic expression through an inclusive community, culture of learning, and specially equipped studios.
In 2022, Pratt engaged Makari Consulting to establish its equity and belonging strategic plan, while preparing to hire a new Executive Director. Using the Multicultural Continuum on Organizational Development (MCOD) as a starting place, Makari Consulting found that Pratt correctly assessed themselves in the pre-transformational stage. This information impacted and informed the goals and activity of the equity and belonging plan. In October 2023, Pratt and Makari Consulting worked together to develop a comprehensive 3-year strategic plan to guide and strengthen the organization. This multidimensional strategic plan and action plan was co-created with a committee comprised of staff, board, and community members through:
Conducting a mixed-methods evaluation through focus groups, interviews, and surveys
Analyzing qualitative data to develop key priorities
Initiating the development of goals and objectives
Facilitating the creation of a 3-year strategic plan
Providing recommendations for implementation of the strategic plan via the action plan
The strategic plan connects with goals of the current DEIB plan (also executed by Makari Consulting) through intersecting methods and execution, present in the executive summary. The key focus areas for the organization include:
Increase sustainability through a balanced budget and staff support
Improve Infrastructure for internal and external users through efficient data infrastructure, buildings, and campus feasibility studies
Enhancing brand awareness and driving engagement through communications and strategic partnerships
