Istara Freedom's Personal Page

Istara is a multi-faceted artist working in stone, collage, painting, music and dance. She has also worked as a scenic artist in theatre and film and enjoys art that is in the moment, physical and inspired by the medium. Her clean and modern approach to stone carving is a complement to the dense imagery and saturation of her collage art. Istara revels in creating impermanent outdoor art installations and transforming her poems into songs.
