Sylva Helgager studied painting and drawing at the University of Wisconsin— Madison and moved out to Seattle after graduating in 2010. She has been a teaching artist for a number of schools in and around Seattle and has a passion for creating a classroom space where all folx feel welcome to explore and challenge themselves through their art making. Sylva’s own work is centered around themes of movement, transformation and growth. Her soft detailed drawings use strange and bright visual elements to explore these subjects and the science and psychology behind them.
