Work with Mexican artists Mercedes Lopez and Miguel Perez in the beautiful seaside town of Chacala. Located a couple hours north of Puerto Vallarta this town is where the jungle meets the ocean. Be inspired by the petroglyphs at Alta Vista the ancient home of the Tecoxquin (2000 BCE). Swim in the warm waters of the Pacific. Learn the ancient Japanese ink rubbing technique of Taku-hon to create both flat as well as 3D images working with the surrounding natural environment. Collage rubbings with linoleum carved prints to create unique artworks.
The tuition includes the workshop, lodging (Sunday-Friday), travel to and from the airport, breakfasts and delicious Mexican welcome and goodbye dinners.

Visit the amazing city of Oaxaca with artists Kamla Kakaria, Romson Bustillo, and Mercedes Lopez. Oaxaca is well known throughout the world as a printmaking center. It was home to Francisco Toledo and is home to Shinzaburo Takeda as well as myriads of younger printmakers. We will tour the many murals and street art throughout Centro. Meet Oaxacan printmakers in their studios as they introduce us to their work. Watch demonstrations from some of the best in their field. We will have a day of creating with our friends at Zanate Studios in Jalatlaca one of the oldest sections of the city. Let us introduce you to some of the most delicious food in the world.
