Pratt Fine Arts Center is pleased to present Show of Hearts, artist Lisa Geertsen's annual exhibit of her personal "heart project". With hand forged metal as her medium, Geertsen creates sculptures based on the human heart's role in our lives and language. The exhibition opens on February 2, 2012 and will be on view at the Pratt Gallery at Tashiro Kaplan Studios through February 25, 2012.
Lisa Geertsen received a BFA in Sculpture from West Virginia University in 1997. Geersten began blacksmithing in 1999 and co-founded Firelight Forge in 2007 in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. Geertsen’s practice includes designing and building custom works by commission. Her work has been shown at the Washington State Convention Center, Twilight Artist Collective and Equinox Studios.
The Pratt Gallery at Tashiro Kaplan Studios showcases the artwork of its instructors, students, and renters, demonstrating the quality, strength and range of talent that is cultivated and made possible by programs offered at Pratt Fine Arts Center. |
